In accordance with the SC School-To-Work Transition Act of 1994 and the federal School-To-Work Opportunities Act if 1994, data must be collected for ALL students participating in work-based learning experiences. Data should be compiled for each student and type of experience completed.

  • For career awareness activities including career-related field trips, career speakers, career fairs, college tours and worksite tours, please keep consistent documentation.
  • For work-based learning activities including job shadowing, internships, service learning, mentoring, apprenticeships and school-based enterprise, data must be entered into SASI for each individual student and is due monthly.
  • To enter information, first make sure that you have the Work-Based Learning Atom installed in SASI.
  • The instructions for entering information are in the SC Work-Based Learning Manual.
  • The SDE will be collection Groundhog Job Shadow Month (February) job shadowing information via paper/pencil this year. Please be sure to keep appropriate documentation (numbers of students and employers) as it is due at the end of February/early March.
